Senior Night - Save the Date - 9/22

Senior Parents,


Each season the CHS varsity soccer program hosts “senior night” recognizing not only the athletes accomplishments but also the parents commitment to the program. This year the event is scheduled to take place the night of the Thornapple-Kellogg match. Here are the particulars:

• Event: Senior Night – Athletes and Parent(s)
• Date: Thursday, September 22nd
• Time: Parents to arrive by 6:15pm
• Location: CHS soccer stadium in front of the concession stand

Each of your senior athletes will be given a handout in the next couple of days to complete identifying thing such as years in the program, significant accomplishments (both academically and athletically) and post high school plans.

Please save the date and make sure you pass the word to friends and family. This is a great way to honor all the hard work that each of our senior athletes have put into making the program successful both on and off the pitch.

P.S. it’s ok if your senior athlete has not finalize their post-high school plan, just say “undecided”…we have to remember they are 17-18 years old and shouldn’t expect too much from them until they are at least 25, so Lori (my wife) keeps telling me…something about their frontal lobe not being fully developed…

Directions - West Ottawa Soccer - Middle School Complex

All,

Just wanted to send a note out on the time and location of the soccer games tonight against West Ottawa – Holland, MI. The soccer facility is located at the Middle School Complex (see map below). You can use either middle school address to get you to the soccer complex:

• Harbor Lights Middle School - 1024 N. 136TH Avenue, Holland, MI 49424
• Macatawa Bay Middle School - 3700 140th Avenue, Holland, MI 49424

Also the game schedules are as follows:

• Freshman – 4:00pm
• JV – 5:30pm (estimated)
• Varsity – 7:00pm (estimated)

911 - Mandatory Athlete & Parent - Thursday, 8/18, CHS Soccer Program

All,

Each season the CHS athletic administration requires the coaching staff to hold a parent and athlete meeting to discuss several topics. To meet this requirement, at least one parent and the athlete “must” attend.

Find below the particulars:

• Date: Thursday, August 18th
• Time: 6:00 to 7:15pm
• Location: CHS Soccer Stadium (located behind Duncan Lake Middle School)
• Teams: Varsity, JV and Freshman
• Participants: At least one parent and the athlete

All...was just informed that the JV/Freshman tryout for "Friday Only" is now scheduled for 2:00-4:30pm...please note the change per Coach Niles.

The Portage Soccer Invitational is scheduled for Saturday, August 20th and will held at the Portage Soccer Complex located at 4360 Bishop Ave, Portage, MI 49002.  See page link above for details.

URGENT!!! - CHS Soccer Tryouts Information - PLEASE READ!!!

All,

As we are about to kickoff the 2011 CHS Boys soccer season, there are housekeeping items that require your attention. Before an athlete can participate in try-out they must have the following handed in to the CHS Athletic Office:

• Physical Confirmation Form
• Signed Athletic Code

• $90 Participation Fee

Tryout are scheduled to start on Wednesday (8/10) and conclude on Friday (8/12), below are the specifics:

Varsity Players:

• Time: 8am-11am
• Location: CHS Practice Fields (Behind the HS)

JV/Freshman Players:

• Time: 5pm-8pm
• Location: CHS Practice Fields (Behind the HS)

All Athletes:
Each athlete must bring the following items each day:

• Soccer Shoes and Shin Guards
• A Soccer Ball
• Running Shoes
• Plenty of Socks
• Water

Knowing that the season will be long both from a physical and mental perspectives, it’s imperative that the athletes take the care of themselves. Nutrition and physical health will be key if the athletes are to compete at the highest levels, so let’s make it a priority.

Just been informed that there will be "no" speed & strength this Monday (8/8) or Tuesday (8/9).  The calendar on the website is incorrect.

Also don't forget about getting your physical, signed code of conduct and participation fee into the athletic office prior to Wednesday, (8/10).
